These\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">two problems are major causes of the barrier to human\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">resource development for learning society in digital age and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">causing disparities in access to technology. To reduce these\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">disparities, an ICT project for lifelong learning for marginalized\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">communities under the Royal Initiative of The Office of Her\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn\u2019s Projects<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">(OPSP) has been initiated.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">This project has been operating since 2016. In 2021,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">the project is in the third phase, which was expanded from the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">\u201cPilot project for managing of solar power generation systems\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">in educational institutions and learning centers for hill tribe\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">communities in the project area under the Royal Initiative\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">that has been operating since 2008 (Phase 1-2 Project)\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">in collaboration with the Information Technology Foundation\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">Chakri Sirindhorn Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">Sirindhorn.<\/span><\/p><h2>Research objectives<\/h2><p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Technology for generating electricity with Stand-Alone or Off Grid PV\/Hybrid System and remote monitoring or telemetry with ICT systems that are suitable for forests, upland, and remote areas or at the edge of the country which does not have access to an electric power grid. The application of these systems during the year 2016-2021 are as follows:<\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Development of teaching competency of the Royal Thai Police for the application of ICT<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Development of career skills about Digital Marketing for students in school<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Development of telemedicine service system for the Royal Thai Government\u2019s Suksala and the infirmary of BorderPatrol Police School<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Promotion of the capability of a community to improve the quality of life on the topic of \u201cManufacture of self-reliant LED lighting kits\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2>What did the research team do?<\/h2><p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">In Phase 1 and 2 of the Project (2008-2015) two\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">solar power generation systems in schools and remote\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">communities has been installed: (1) a small system of 480 watts\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">(Wp) capable of generating electricity up to approximately 1.5\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">kilowatt-hours\/day (kW-h\/day) and (2) battery systems that can\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">back up electricity for 2 days\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">During Phase 3 of the project (2016-present) the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">Stand-Alone or Off Grid PV\/Hybrid System will be designed\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">and developed to be able to produce energy together with an\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">electric power supply from other sources available in the area\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">such as wind power, hydropower, and generators. The project\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">in this phase also includes design and development of the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">electricity generation system to attain a higher power capacity\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">and durability. This system has a backup battery that can\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">provide electricity for a couple of days in case of raining or low\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">sunlight and a diesel generator as an emergency backup power\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">source.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The electricity generation system has the following\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">features. The installation is easy since appropriate components\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">or quick-detach attachments have been selected. The solar\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">panels can be installed both on the roof of and on the ground\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">of the building. The system is uncomplicated by designed for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">ease of operation and maintainance, Emphasis is placed on\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">preventive maintenance rather than corrective maintenance.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">The system is protected from environment by packing\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">important electrical equipment in a cabinet or a sealed box\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">to prevent insects, dust, water spray and choose equipment\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">that is suitable for outdoor use and has IP Rating standards.<\/span><\/p><h2>Research status<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">At present, the project has installed an electricity\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">generating system and got it up and running for schools and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">communities in 12 areas under the Border Patrol Police\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">Headquarters, 8 areas under the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education: NFE) and one area under the Office of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). In the year 2020, the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">system has been extended to 2 more schools. As of October\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">2021, this project has benefited more than 13,000 people and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">1,000 households in 23 areas.<\/span><\/p><h2>Outlook<\/h2><p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Collecting data on the results of the operation of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">electricity generation system and studying the economic value\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #333333;\">of long-term use of lithium-ion batteries.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
