Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of Energy Innovation Research Group (EIRG, ENTEC) and President of Thailand Energy Storage Technology Association (TESTA), gave a welcoming speech with co-chairs Dr. Davy Cheong (Director of Singapore Battery Consortium, SBC) and Dr. Leonardo Gunawan (Director of National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology, NCSTT) at the \u201c1st ASEAN Battery and Electric Vehicle Technology Conference (ABEVTC) 2023\u201d on 9 May 2023.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

The conference (held on 9-11 May 2023 in Bali, Indonesia) was organized by Singapore Battery Consortium (SBC), National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT), and Thailand Energy Storage Technology Association (TESTA). ABEVTC aims to \u201cforge a vibrant ASEAN battery and EV technology ecosystems, with a focus on manufacturing and production sectors\u201d \u2013 elevating related ecosystems \u201cfrom state to ASEAN level\u201d through \u201ccollaborations among industries, academics and national policy makers.\u201d<\/b><\/p>

At the highlight of the conference, Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul (as President of TESTA) together with Dr. Davy Cheong (Director of Singapore Battery Consortium, SBC), Dr. Leonardo Gunawan (Director of National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology, NCSTT), Dr. Jose Bienvenido Manuel M. Biona (Executive Director of Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, EVAP), Dr. Rezal Khairi Bin Ahmad (Chief Executive Officer of NanoMalaysia Berhad) and Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Evvy Kartini (Founder of National Battery Research Institute, NBRI) signed an MOU between the six leading regional organizations on establishing battery network in Southeast Asia.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cThe MOU signing ceremony on battery development between the six leading organizations in Southeast Asia is expected to help strengthen the collaboration within our region. It will be a good starting point for us all to move together towards economic prosperity in conjunction with sustainable development in an important and fast-growing industry,\u201d said Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul in an interview following the ceremony.<\/b><\/p>

In addition to the MOU signing ceremony, ABEVTC 2023 featured a roundtable discussion \u201cFostering ASEAN Toward Decarbonization\u201d (in which Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul also participated), panel discussions on battery swapping technology and circular economy of batteries, 6 keynote speeches, agreement signing between Singapore Battery Consortium (SBC) and the representative from the Philippines, and a variety of industry expert sharing.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
