On November 13, 2024, INC2 SIX SOUTH Meeting Room, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA)
National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) welcomed Dr. Bo Yu, Director of the CAS Key Laboratory of Microbial Physiological and Metabolic Engineering at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), for a joint research project progress meeting at the Innovation Cluster 2 (INC2) Building, NSTDA. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of a joint research project between ENTEC and CAS under the CAS-NSTDA collaboration framework, titled “High-Cost Efficiency Microbial Fuel Cell for Simultaneous Wastewater Treatment, Bioenergy Production and Metal Recovery using Robust Strains for Bioelectrocatalytic Process.”
Main participants included Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Assistant Executive Director of ENTEC, Dr. Supawadee Ingsriswang, Principal researcher and Microbial Systems and Computational Biology Research Team Leader at BIOTEC, Dr. Korakot Sombatmankhong, Senior Researcher from ENTEC’s Low Carbon Energy Research Group and Project Leader, along with research teams from both ENTEC and BIOTEC. Following the progress presentation, Dr. Korakot led Dr. Bo Yu on a laboratory tour, where they engaged in productive discussions and exchanged research expertise. This meeting not only contributed to the project’s advancement but also laid the groundwork for future expansion of research and innovation collaboration between the two institutions.
