On January 22, 2025, at the Auditorium EECi, Wang Chan District, Rayong
Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and Director of the Thailand Electric Vehicle Center of Excellence (TECE), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on “Research and Development of Electric Vehicle Technologies, EV Skills Development, and Sustainable Battery Management” with Rayong Technical College.
This collaboration stems from the project “Promoting the Application and Lifecycle Management of Electric Vehicle Development in Thailand,” a joint initiative between NSTDA, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), which is supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF-7). The project focuses on building a comprehensive ecosystem covering technology development, human resource development, infrastructure promotion, and fostering collaboration between the government, private sector, and academia in alignment with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation’s “MHESI for EV” policy. The goal is to promote the use of electric vehicles in public transportation, reduce environmental pollution, and establish a foundation for the development of Thailand’s electric vehicle industry, with a focus on research, technology development, and promotion of practical, real-world applications.
During the event, Dr. Manop Masomtob, a researcher from the Energy Storage Systems Research Team, delivered a lecture on “Fundamentals of Battery Technology for Electric Vehicles” to participants from Rayong Technical College.
