2025.05.08 ENTEC, NSTDA Welcomes Chumporn Palm Oil Industry for a Laboratory Visit to Explore Innovations in Palm Oil-Based Oleochemicals

On May 8, 2025, at the MP205 Meeting Room, MTEC Pilot Plant Building, Thailand Science Park

Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), welcomed representatives from Chumporn Palm Oil Industry Public Company Limited during their visit to explore oleochemical research conducted by the Clean Fuel and Advanced Chemical Technology Research Team (CFCT).

The visit featured research innovations presented by Dr. Boonyawan Yoosuk, CFCT team leader, along with other researchers from the CFCT team. They showcased a series of their breakthrough oleochemical products derived from Thai palm oil, including:

  1. EnPAT: Bio-Transformer oil made from palm oil, offering a safer and more sustainable alternative.
  2. Eco-Pest: A bio-based pest control solution and insecticide agent synthesized from palm oil derivatives.
  3. PALM GREASE: A biodegradable lubricating grease formulated from palm oil.
  4. ECOPALM LIGHTER: An eco-friendly, bio-based charcoal lighter fluid derived from palm oil.

During the visit, both ENTEC and Chumporn Palm Oil Industry PCL engaged in valuable exchanges of research insights and industrial perspectives related to the palm oil sector. Both parties expressed a shared intention to further expanding product development efforts aimed at enhancing the value of Thai palm oil and creating economic opportunities for farmers across the country. These goals are expected to be realized through future joint operations between palm oil extraction facilities and refineries, further strengthening Thailand’s position as a leader in sustainable palm oil innovation.
