2025.07.29 TISI Visits ENTEC and MTEC, NSTDA to Discuss Collaboration on International Hydrogen Technology Standardization

On July 29, 2025, at meeting room CO-101, Central Office Building, Thailand Science Park.

Miss Nathathai Sangobpant, Senior-Professional Level Standards Officer at the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), along with her team, visited the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) for a collaborative meeting. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Jitti Mungkalasiri from the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) and Dr. Visarn Lilavivat from the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), along with their respective teams.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and strengthen collaborative efforts in developing international standards for inspection and certification under the framework of ISO/TC 197 Hydrogen Technologies.

This initiative follows a resolution passed during the Standards Inspection and Certification Committee Meeting No. 24-1/2025, held on January 28, 2025, in which the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, has been appointed as a co-agency in the development of international standards. ENTEC will serve alongside TISI as a liaison body within ISO/TC 197 Hydrogen Technologies. ENTEC’s role includes providing technical expertise and commentary in areas such as large-scale hydrogen energy systems and applications, testing, sustainability certification, and installation, as well as coordination with international organizations and relevant stakeholders.

During the meeting, TISI provided an overview of the procedures related to standards development, inspection, and certification, and elaborated on engagement mechanisms within the ISO framework. This exchange highlighted an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between TISI and NSTDA, particularly by leveraging NSTDA’s technical expertise in relevant fields. Such cooperation could further reinforce NSTDA’s potential role as a key national partner in supporting Thailand’s involvement in international standardization and global standard-setting initiatives.
