During 27–31 July 2026, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, represented by Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, and Dr. Nattanai Kunanusont, Researcher, joined a study workshop in Japan. The workshop was led by the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE), Ministry of Industry, together with the Thailand Automotive Institute and the Office of Industrial Affairs in Tokyo.
The team visited and exchanged knowledge with the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Japan Automobile Recycling Promotion Center (JARC), Japan Automobile Recycling Organization (JAERA), Automotive and Battery Traceability Center (ABtC), Matsuda Sangyo Co., Ltd., 4R Energy Corporation, DOWA Holdings Co., Ltd., and Toyota Tsusho Corporation. The visit focused on used EV battery management, battery tracking, second-life applications, recycling, and recovery of valuable materials.
The knowledge gained from this workshop will support Thailand in developing technologies, standards, and management systems for EV batteries throughout their life cycle, and help prepare Thailand’s automotive industry for a more sustainable future.
