The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), participated in APEC Technology Empowers Low Carbon Action (TELCA): Roadmaps, Accessibility and Partnership, held in Shenzhen, China, bringing together representatives from government agencies, private sectors, academia and relevant organizations from APEC economies to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on advancing transition and tracking transition progress across the Asia-Pacific region.
As part of the event, Mr. Pidpong Janta, assistant researcher in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, Low Carbon Energy Research Group, ENTEC, was invited to participate as a panelist in the session entitled “Advancing a Just Transition: Sharing Costs and Benefits in Low-Carbon Policies.” The panel focused on approaches to advancing a just transition, with emphasis on fairness, stakeholder participation, and ensuring inclusive opportunities for different sectors and communities throughout the transition process.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ruethai Onbhuddha, researcher in Sustainability and Socio-economic Assessment Research Team, Technology and Informatics Institute for Sustainability, MTEC, was invited to participate in the panel entitled “Tracking Progress and Benchmarking Success: Monitoring Low-Carbon Technology Development Across APEC.” The session focused on approaches to monitoring progress, establishing indicators, and benchmarking achievements to support effective assessment and accelerate progress toward transition goals.
ENTEC’s and MTEC’s participation in APEC TELCA 2026 highlights its role in contributing knowledge and perspectives to international discussions and sharing Thailand’s experiences in the APEC forum. The engagement also supports regional collaboration toward a sustainable, inclusive, and just transition in the Asia-Pacific region.
