On February 21, 2024, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) buzzed with intellectual exchange and diplomatic engagement as Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, and Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Assistant Director, extended a warm welcome to participants attending the workshop on the role of diplomacy for international cooperation in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), arranged by Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI)
The distinguished gathering included H.E. Mr. Patrick Bourne, Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Tumur Amarsanaa, Ambassador of Mongolia to Thailand, along with representatives from the embassies of Colombia, Guatemala, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, and affiliated agencies, who were honored with a tour of ENTEC’s cutting-edge laboratories.
Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Dr. Thaweewat Krachangsang, and ENTEC personnel graciously guided the visitors through ENTEC’s facilities, showcasing the Energy Storage Technology Research Laboratory, Clean Fuel Technology and Advanced Chemistry Laboratory, Solar Photovoltaic Research Laboratory, and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Laboratory, while presenting the center’s remarkable research outcomes and advancements in energy technology.
The workshop, focusing on the nexus of diplomacy and International cooperation in STI, served as a platform for agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand, to exchange insights on STI development and cooperation policies. The event aimed to foster networks of collaboration in STI at the global level, drawing participation from representatives of various embassies in Thailand.
