The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, led by Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr Assistant Director, Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of the Low Carbon Energy Research group, Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group and the research team, together with representatives from relevant agencies, organized a workshop on “Finalisation Workshop for UNEP and SOLUTIONSplus Projects”. This is an activity under the project, “Mainstreaming Electric Mobility 2- and 3- Wheelers in Thailand.
This event was honored with opening remark, given by Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, assistant director of ENTEC, Ms. Yeonju Jeong, Head of Sustainable Transport in Asia Pacific, UNEP, and Dr. Shritu Shrestha, SOLUTIONSplus representative. The aim of this event is to present an overview of the UNEP and SOLUTIONSplus project, composed of the important progress and achievements in promoting electric 2 and 3 wheelers (E2&3W) in Thailand.
In the event, the success factors and experiences from the works involved on supporting electric 2 and 3 wheelers were highlights, by UNEP and other development partners. These emphasized the importances and potential of electric vehicles. The in-depth practical information and plans for accelerating the adoption of electric 2- and 3- wheelers were delivered, covered the Bangkok metropolitan, major regional cities, and secondary minor economic cities. The event also included battery replacement standard for electric vehicles, guidelines for doing MRV in accordance with the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER), which is an important tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This activity is in-line with national goals for sustainable transport and environment conservation.
