Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, participated in the IGNITE THAILAND: Future Workforce for Future Industry Vision Statement event on ‘Preparing Human Resources to Build the Future Industry’ at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House. The event was attended by cabinet ministers, the Secretary General to Prime Minister, senior officials from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and its affiliated agencies, representatives from related private sectors, and the press.
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the opening of the event on behalf of Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister. During the event, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), expressed the vision on ‘Preparing Human Resources to Build the Future Industry’ in support of the Ignite Thailand policy across eight sectors identified by the Prime Minister. This collaborative effort involves the public and private sectors, universities, and research institutes both domestically and internationally, aiming to plan, construct, and develop high-skilled human resources (graduates, researchers, and industry personnel). The initiative aims to produce 80,000 skilled personnel in Semiconductor & Advanced Electronics, 150,000 in EV, and 50,000 in AI within 5 years through Initiative Projects comprising 3 short-term workforce production projects, 3 medium to long-term workforce production projects, establishment of 4 Semiconductor Training Centers, and over 30 Training Centers to produce high-skilled workforce to support future industries and drives Thailand’s economy towards sustainable future.
Moreover, an exhibition showcasing achievements of agencies under the MHESI’s supervision aligned with this vision, was displayed, the ‘Battery Swapping Platform’ one of the significant achievements of ENTEC and its partners, was highlighted at this event.
