2026.05.23 ENTEC, NSTDA Joins PMUC’s “Zero Burn to Earn” Initiative at Chiang Mai University.

On 23 May 2026, Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the “Nuea San Saang, Laek Phao, Pao Toong” (“Northern Collaboration: Stop Burning, Earn More”) event under the “PMUC Zero Burn to Earn” initiative at Chiang Mai University. The event aimed to follow-up on the progress and achievements of PMUC and its partner networks after the project’s official launch in late April.

As one of the key partner organizations, ENTEC, NSTDA is responsible for inspecting second-hand solar panels prior to their installation for farmers. This process helps ensure that the solar panels deployed through the project meet quality and safety standards and are suitable for second-life use. ENTEC also introduced the “Solar Sure” platform to systematically record and monitor the panels throughout their operational lifecycle.

During the event, Dr. Amornrat Limmanee, Leader of the Solar Photovoltaic Technology Research Team (SPVT), delivered a presentation in the cluster session titled “Pathways to Renewable Energy Development.” Meanwhile, Dr. Nopphadol Sitthiphol and the SPVT research team showcased the exhibition “Inspect, Install, Track,” showcasing solutions for second-hand solar panel inspection, installation, and monitoring. The exhibition received attention from the Deputy Prime Minister during his visit.

In addition, on 22 May 2026, ENTEC and NECTEC jointly organized a knowledge transfer workshop on solar panel inspection in accordance with TAS 1011-2569 standards at the Energy Research and Development Institute – Nakornping, Chiang Mai University. The training welcomed more than 50 lecturers and students from universities, vocational colleges, and technical institutes across Northern Thailand, including the School of Renewable Energy at Maejo University, Lamphun Technical College, Chiang Rai Technical College, and Chiang Mai Technical College. The workshop aimed to strengthen technical capabilities in solar panel screening and promote broader access to sustainable clean energy solutions.

Dr. Amornrat Limmanee from ENTEC and Mr. Pijag Permprasert from NECTEC served as lecturers for the theoretical sessions, while Dr. Nopphadol Sitthiphol and the SPVT research team from ENTEC conducted hands-on practical training on solar panel inspection techniques.
