Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), participated in an insightful discussion and knowledge exchange on “Mutual Learning of Science, Technology, and Innovation Coordination to Bridge Different Countries and Sectors.” This session was part of the Cambodia, Thailand, and Japan Capacity Development Program and Policy Recommendations Initiative.

This collaborative initiative aligns with Thailand’s Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) policy, which aims to drive leapfrog development and transform Thailand into a developed nation by 2037. The policy focuses on establishing the country as a global leader in agricultural and agro-industrial products, health and wellness services, elderly care, tourism, cutting-edge research, space technology, and a highly skilled workforce.

As part of this vision, ENTEC, alongside NSTDA, plays a crucial role in enhancing education quality to match developed nations, fostering knowledge and innovation to boost competitiveness, expanding access to higher education, and developing workforce skills to meet market demands. ENTEC is also committed to creating local employment opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship to drive the local economy, leveraging innovation for technological advancement, and reforming higher education systems to unlock Thailand’s potential in science, research, and innovation. Additionally, ENTEC promotes interdisciplinary, interagency, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen national competitiveness.

This initiative underscores Thailand’s commitment to international cooperation in capacity development, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive future through strategic STI policies.
