The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), participated in the Toyota Renewable Energy Exhibition 2026 held by Toyota Motor Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. – TMA (TH). National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) and the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), representing NSTDA, showcased research and innovations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly materials, and sustainable manufacturing processes, while sharing knowledge and technologies with more than 280 Toyota supplier factories to support the automotive industry’s transition toward low-carbon manufacturing.
As Thailand’s national R&D agency, NSTDA continues to bridge science, technology, and innovation with real-world industrial applications. Through collaboration with industry, NSTDA aims to strengthen the capabilities of Thai manufacturers and help them respond to global trends toward greenhouse gas reduction, clean energy adoption, and sustainable business practices.
ENTEC Showcases H-FAME Premium Biodiesel
At the exhibition, ENTEC, led by Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Leader of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, Low-Carbon Energy Research Group, presented H-FAME (Hydrotreated Fatty Acid Methyl Ester), or Premium Biodiesel—a low-carbon fuel technology developed to support the transport and industrial sectors during the transition toward a Net Zero society.
H-FAME uses partial hydrogenation technology to significantly improve biodiesel quality and stability, achieving more than three times higher stability than conventional biodiesel. It can be used as a drop-in fuel in existing diesel engines without modification and can support higher blending levels beyond B20, including B100. The technology can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to approximately 50% and particulate matter (PM) emissions by up to 86%, compared with petroleum-based diesel.
ENTEC has also developed a continuous H-FAME pilot production plant and is currently scaling up production capacity to facilitate technology transfer to industry and support future commercial applications. The technology attracted considerable interest from visitors and industry representatives at the exhibition.

ENTEC’s participation went beyond showcasing research achievements. The event provided a platform to connect researchers with manufacturers, creating opportunities for joint research, technology testing, and the development of innovations tailored to industrial needs.
Such collaboration can help strengthen the competitiveness of Thai manufacturers within the global automotive supply chain while reinforcing confidence in NSTDA’s role as a knowledge partner supporting the transition toward a green supply chain.
