National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), participated in a seminar to present research findings on “The Sustainable Management of End-of-Life Electric Vehicles and Batteries”. The event, held at Avani Ratchada Hotel in Bangkok, was organized by the Thailand Automotive Institute.

ENTEC’s delegation led by Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group (EIRG), accompanied by researcher, Dr. Nattanai Kunanusont attended the event. This project is a collaborative effort between Thailand Automotive Institute and ENTEC, NSTDA, with invaluable support from the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE). The project’s primary objective is to formulate comprehensive policy recommendations aimed at fostering and regulating sustainable industries for end-of-life electric vehicles and their batteries within Thailand.

The event featured the insightful research findings presentations from the research team, comprising Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Dr. Jiravan Mongkoltanatas, Dr. Ukrit Sahapatsombut, Dr. Manop Masomtob, Dr. Nattanai Kunanusont, Mr. Viset Lailuck, and Mr. Patharakorn Rattanawan from NECTEC.

During the event, Dr. Pimpa elucidated on the potential of implementing a Battery Passport system in Thailand, a concept that could revolutionize battery lifecycle management. Dr. Nattanai delivered a presentation on “Lessons Learned from Simulating the Electric Vehicle (xEV) Dismantling Business – High Voltage Battery Management.” These topics garnered significant interest from industry representatives across the end-of-life electric vehicle management supply chain who attended the seminar.
