The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) presented a grant of 3 million baht to support the third year of the ICT for Lifelong Learning Project for Marginalized Communities under the Royal Initiative of the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Professor Dr. Pairash Thajchayapong, Director and Secretary-General of the Information Technology Foundation under the Royal Initiative, and Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC).
Dr. Amornrat Limmanee, Solar Photovoltaic Research Team Leader, and Dr. Aswin Hongsingthong, Project Leader for the ICT for Lifelong Learning Project, received the funding from Mr. Kriengsak Kruasri, PEA’s Assistant Governor of Corporate Strategy-Organization Affairs. Over the past two years, ENTEC has been implementing the ICT for Lifelong Learning Project, focusing on developing essential skills for the maintenance and operation of solar power generation systems and telecommunications equipment among school personnel. The initiative provides hands-on training, empowering local communities to solve technical problems independently and sustainably.
During the ceremony, Mr. Kriengsak expressed PEA’s commitment to expanding electricity access in marginalized areas and their satisfaction in contributing to educational opportunities through this ICT for Lifelong Learning Project. Dr. Sumittra acknowledged and embranced the royal initiative, emphasizing ENTEC’s dedication to supporting research that benefits national development, education, and quality of life for Thai citizens. She also expressed enthusiasm for future collaborative research opportunities with PEA, highlighting the potential for continued partnership in upcoming significant projects.
