The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power and Energy Society Thailand (IEEE PES Thailand), in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), and the Hydrogen Association of Thailand (HAT), with support from the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), the Energy Research and Development Institute-Nakornping, Chiang Mai University (ERDI-CMU), and various private sector experts, organized an academic seminar titled “Hydrogen: The Future of Alternative Energy Towards Carbon Neutrality.” On this occasion, Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), was invited to serve as Session Chairman for the three-day course on “Green Hydrogen: Production Technology, Storage, Transportation, Infrastructure Design, and Applications.”
Dr. Sumittra was also an honored guest speaker, delivering lectures on:
– Global Research and Development Trends in Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
– Types of fuel cells, main components, characteristics of fuel cells, and operating principles of fuel cells
During the event, Dr. Visarn Lilavivat, a researcher from the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, was also invited as a speaker and delivered a presentation on “Development and Application of Fuel Cells.”
Additionally, Dr. Supharerk Henpraserttae, a researcher from the Advanced Clean Fuel and Chemistry Technology Research Team, was a speaker in the session on Green Hydrogen from Renewable Energy and Safety Standards, where he provided case studies on the development of green hydrogen from renewable energy in Thailand and its role in achieving net-zero emissions.
The IEEE Power & Energy Series 2025 seminar aimed to advance energy technology for the transportation and power generation industries using renewable energy, contributing to Thailand’s economic growth while simultaneously reducing environmental impacts.
