National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) hosted a seminar on “The Future of Decarbonizing Transportation and Power Generation Sectors in Thailand,” with Mr. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, Chairman of the ENTEC Executive Board Committee, delivering the opening remarks.


The seminar began with a special keynote lecture titled “The Future of Decarbonizing Transportation and Power Generation Sectors Globally,” by Mr. KAJIWARA Toru, Minister and Chief of the Economic Section, Embassy of Japan in Thailand. This was followed by a panel discussion on “In-Depth Policies Supporting Research and Development in Hydrogen and Power Generation,” featuring key energy policy experts, including:
– Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Deputy Director of Office of National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO)
– Mr. Sarat Prakobchart, Deputy Director General of Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO)
– Dr. Prasit Siritiprussamee, Deputy Secretary-General of Energy Regulatory Commission of Thailand (ERC)
The final session featured a panel discussion on “Unlocking the Key to Success in Production, Transportation, and Clean Energy for the Industrial Sector,” which brought together prominent figures from the energy industry, including:
– Dr. Yuttana Suwannachot, Assistant Managing Director, PTT Innovation Institute, PTT Public Company Limited
– Ms. Kalyakorn Suzuki, Director of Fuel Procurement and Contract Management, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)
– Dr. Narun Suwanchotchoung, Committee Member and Treasurer, Hydrogen Association of Thailand
– Mr. Piyabut Charupen, Managing Director, Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. (BIG)
Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of ENTEC, moderated the discussions, which were attended by more than 300 participants from various sectors.
A special highlight of the event was the support ENTEC received from Toyota Motor Thailand, which provided a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (Toyota Mirai Gen2), and Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. (BIG), which set up a demonstration hydrogen station for fuel cell electric vehicles. These displays were featured in the Hydrogen Economy exhibition at the Princess Sirindhorn Science Home, reflecting the collaborative research partnership atmosphere to create a sustainable clean energy future together.
