During October 9-11, 2023, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), led by Dr. Kampanart Silva from Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team (RENT), and Mr. Pidpong Janta, a research assistant, participated in the 6th annual meeting of the ASEAN Network on Nuclear Power Safety Research in Singapore. This gathering served as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences related to clean energy operations and energy policies in Thailand and other ASEAN countries, covering both technical aspects and research activities. During the event, Dr. Kampanart delivered a presentation on “Accident Consequences Assessment for Small Modular Reactors,” while Mr. Pidpong shared insights on “Gauging Nuclear Power Public Perception in ASEAN – Necessity & Some Tools.”
The event attracted participants from various member countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand, with representatives from a total of 7 nations. This collaborative engagement fostered a rich exchange of ideas and experiences, contributing to the collective understanding of nuclear power safety research within the ASEAN region.
