2026.07.24 ENTEC Researcher Highlights Ethanol-to-SAF Advancements at The Alcohol School

The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, was represented by Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Head of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technology Research Team (RENT), Low Carbon Energy Research Group, who was invited as a guest speaker at “The Alcohol School” seminar on July 24, 2026 held at The Westin Grand Sukhumvit Hotel, This event was organized by the Ethanol Technology Institute, which highlighted the latest breakthroughs across the ethanol production supply chain and analyzed shifting market demands. Industry experts discussed cutting-edge production technologies, including the introduction of novel microorganisms and yeast strains. Discussions also focused on strategic plans to boost ethanol adoption across Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, alongside emerging fuel trends like automotive gasohol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

During his session, Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat shared key updates on accelerating SAF production using starch and sugar-based feedstocks. He also highlighted recent progress in securing “Molasses C” certification as a viable SAF raw materials and presented the preliminary results of a Core Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted in collaboration with ENTEC’s research network.
