2026.06.08 ENTEC, NSTDA Explores Collaboration Opportunities on ASEAN Biofuel and EV Integration with Tecmotiv Solution Pvt. Ltd.

On 8 June 2026, Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Team Leader, and Dr. Arthit Champeecharoensuk, Researcher of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, ENTEC, NSTDA, participated in an online meeting with Mr. Yogesh Umbarkar, Founder of Tecmotiv Solution Pvt. Ltd., India.

The meeting focused on exploring potential collaboration opportunities in the fields of sustainable transportation, biofuel development, and electric vehicle (EV) integration within the ASEAN region. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including integrated EV and biofuel mobility roadmaps, low-carbon and net-zero mobility research, sustainable energy transition strategies, and policy frameworks supporting the deployment of advanced mobility technologies in both Thailand and India.

During the meeting, Dr. Peerawat presented an overview of ENTEC and its research activities related to renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and biofuel development. He also shared Thailand’s experiences and policy directions regarding biofuel promotion and delivered a presentation entitled “Strategic Integration of Electric Vehicles into the ASEAN Biofuel Roadmap.” The presentation highlighted the complementary roles of biofuels and electrification in achieving regional decarbonization goals and enhancing energy security.

In addition, the discussion addressed Thailand’s ongoing efforts to promote Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), particularly through the Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ) pathway, which converts ethanol into aviation fuel. Participants exchanged views on the future role of advanced biofuels in supporting the decarbonization of the aviation sector and the opportunities for regional cooperation in research, policy development, and technology deployment.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing strong interest in future collaboration through joint research activities, technical workshops, knowledge exchange programs, and policy dialogues aimed at accelerating the transition toward sustainable and low-carbon mobility systems across ASEAN and India.
